Ben Cavallo of Cavallo and Signoriello Insurance receives “Young Agent of the Year” award from MAIA

BOSTON AND MANSFIELD, MA, ISSUED NOVEMBER 10, 2011...Ben Cavallo, a principal at Cavallo & Signoriello Insurance Agency, has won the coveted "Young Agent of the Year" award from the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA). The award is given annually to an insurance professional under the age of 40, who has demonstrated leadership within the industry and community.
The presentation of the award was made at the recent MAIA Annual Convention held at the Marriott Hotel at Copley Place, Boston.
Cavallo received the award in recognition of the work that has been done this year in an effort to revitalize the MAIA Young Agents Council (YAC), where he serves as Co-Chair.
Beth Sylvia Caldwell, Board Member of the MAIA, said, “One young agent stood out because of his untiring efforts to energize the YAC, whether it was recruiting sponsors for events, talking with the industry press about the goals of the group or providing direction for the next group activity. Ben Cavallo stepped up and provided the leadership needed to kick the YACs into high gear.”
Cavallo, the sole recipient of that award for this year, said "The insurance industry has been very good to me and my family and I am proud to be an insurance agent. I'm honored to have been selected as the Young Agent of the Year, and I hope that our work in revitalizing the council inspires others to get more involved in the industry."
He continued, "It was quite an honor simply to be asked to serve as a co-chair of the committee. And, to be able to get more involved with the MAIA, an organization that plays such a key role in promoting and advocating for the insurance industry, was incredible."
Cavallo has been involved with the family insurance agency since 1998, and full-time since 2004. He and partner Keith Signoriello run the agency that their fathers, Ben Cavallo and Frank Signoriello, started in 1959.
Prior to becoming a principal at the agency, Cavallo was a financial consultant at Smith Barney. He holds an MBA from Boston College, and earned his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta. The Mansfield, MA native now lives in Dedham with his wife and son. He is an avid golfer, and is a sports fan, holding season’s tickets for a number of Boston area sporting venues.
