Nighttime Driving

Our agents at C&S Insurance believe that safety is everything.  While we know that driving at any time of the day can be particularly dangerous, it is when the sun sets that the danger levels are escalated.  We want to keep you protected as best as we can from both an accident and the increased insurance rates that are sure to follow!

  • When driving at night, be sure to use your headlights cautiously.  Make sure not to flash your high beams incessantly at oncoming drivers as this is often found to be distracting.

  • It is important to make yourself visible to other cars on the road.  If you happen to get into an accident or your battery dies, be sure to use your hazard lights to make your presence known on the side of the road.

  • Cleanliness is also a factor to safe driving! If your windows aren’t clean, you may not have the clearest vision and therefore your eyes can end up getting diverted from the road to the dead bug on the windshield or anything else that would otherwise not be distracting.

  • Especially at night, one of the most important things to do is concentrate on the road.  It may seem difficult to focus merely on the road in front of you when your mind is wandering, but there is nothing more important than concentration.

Driving at night can be exhausting and dangerous. Follow just a few of these tips to keep yourself out of auto insurance problems. The best tip is to drive only when you are fully alert and able to pay attention to the road. There is never shame in pulling over at a rest stop for a few winks.
