Success: Mansfield Touch-a-Truck 2017

If you were one of the 1,500 people who showed up to the 5th annual Mansfield Touch-a-Truck on September 23rd, you can vouch that the event was a complete sensation!

Sunny skies and warm breezes filled the atmosphere, making it the perfect day to spend quality time outside and inhale some fresh air. The Mansfield Women of Today (MWOT) successfully gathered your kids’ favorite vehicles: police cars, Mack trucks, FEDEX trucks, ambulances, fire trucks, dump trucks, excavators, and SWAT vehicles (not to mention a grilled cheese truck).

Members from Mansfield’s Police, Fire, Electric, DPW, MEMA and various other departments came out to support the cause. Kids eagerly ran around the airport, hopping from truck to truck, honking horns and interacting with their local heroes. If the vehicles weren’t enough of an attraction, families could also partake in hula-hooping, glitter tattoos, board breaking with martial arts experts, art projects, raffles, ice cream and more!

While the DJ mixed the kid’s favorite Disney soundtracks and pop songs, friends and families were able to happily socialize and enjoy their fun surroundings. Thanks to New England Ice Cream, the Fancheezical food truck, and dozens of generous truck owners/drivers, the occasion was a total success!

All told, the Touch-a-Truck event raised more than $6,000 for local nonprofits, including Mansfield Police and Mansfield Fire, the Mansfield Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), the Our Daily Bread food pantry, the West Side Benevolent Society, and several others. Running these critical operations is surprisingly expensive. Our C&S team was thrilled to help support them. Thanks again to all who came out! Hope to see you next year!
